This gentleman’s antique jewellery box, with its brass strapping, recessed brass handles and radial edged design, is made from solid Mahogany. It dates from the early 1830’s.
The interior of the box is lined with blue velvet, moiré silk and Morocco leather. There is a removable solid mahogany jewellery tray that reveals a large velvet lined compartment below.
Set within gold-tooled leather, a manufacturer’s and retailer’s label for Samuel Pratt is presented to the underside of the lid.
The Bramah lock is fully working and comes with its original Bramah key.
