Dating from 1858, this antique jewellery box is veneered and cross-banded in Calamander, edged and inlaid with brass, and finished with recessed brass side handles and a Bramah lock. The box was manufactured and retailed by one of the finest English cabinet making firms of Edwards.

The interior of the box is lined with blue velvet, moiré silk and Morocco leather decorated with Edward’s signature ‘greek key’ gold tooling. There are two removable leather-bound trays that, once removed, reveal a further jewellery area in the base.

The interior rims of the box are veneered with cross-banded Calamander, concealing Edward’s Patent brass hinges.

The Bramah lock comes with its signed Bramah key.

The box comes in very good condition throughout.
