Dating from the mid-1840’s, this imposing antique gentleman’s travelling jewellery box is manufactured from solid Cuban mahogany with radial brass edging.
The interior of the box is lined with blue velvet and matching moiré silk. The top compartmented tray, with fitted sub-tray, can be removed to reveal a second compartmented tray beneath. With both trays removed, the deep base compartment can be accessed.
The Bramah lock is fully working with its original key.
The condition of the box is excellent both externally and internally.
