Created by George Betjemann & Sons during the 1870’s, this box has been manufactured from a solid brass structure that has been decoratively engraved on every outer surface with flowers, foliage and scrollwork. The weight of the box is so impressive, due to the solidity of its structure.
The interior of the box is lined with burgundy velvet and moiré silk.
The front rim of the box is engraved with, ‘Betjemann & Sons – Makers – London’.
The lock is fully working and comes with its original key.
