Dating from 1867, this antique jewellery box is veneered in coromandel, edged and strung with brass, and finished with two Bramah locks.

The interior of the box is lined with blue velvet, moiré silk, and Morocco leather. A leather-bound tray, housing its own sub-tray, can be removed to reveal an open lined area beneath.

The independently lockable, spring-loaded lower drawer has a leather-bound lid that acts as a portable writing surface.

The ruched velvet panel in the lid springs forward to reveal a removable freestanding, leather framed mirror on the reverse, and a concealed letter wallet.
The spring-loaded button mount for the lower drawer is engraved with, Asprey – Maker – 166 New Bond St – London.

The Bramah locks work perfectly, and come with their separate keys.

The condition of the box is excellent both externally and internally.
