Dating from the mid-1870’s, this antique jewellery box is veneered in coromandel, edged with brass, and finished with a central engraved monogram to the lid.

The interior of the box is lined with purple velvet and Morocco leather. A compartmented leather-bound tray can be removed to reveal an open lined area beneath.

The independently lockable lower drawer is fitted with a full width ring channel.

A brass retailer’s plate to the rear rim of the box is engraved with ‘Pittway Brothers, London’.

The Bramah locks work perfectly, both being operated by the same key.

The condition of the box is excellent both externally and internally.
