Dating from circa 1790, this is an exceptionally early example of a George Ill parquetry box inlaid with rosewood, satinwood, tulip wood, elm, and beech wood. The lid, with its chamfered perimter, has been decorated with a ‘tumbling cube’ geometric design.

The interior of the box is lined with burgundy velvet and matching silk.

The lock is fully working with its key.

The condition of the box is excellent both externally and internally.
