Dating from the early 1820’s, this miniature antique jewellery box is veneered in rosewood.  It is finished with brass edging, recessed brass side handles and a central brass viscountess coronet and monogram.

The interior, lined with blue velvet, Morocco leather and moirè silk, is fitted with a beautifully presented manufacturer’s label in the lid; set behind glass, and in a kingwood frame, there is a paper label belonging to David Edwards of 21 King Street, Bloomsbury Square. Due to this high level of presentation, it is highly possible that this box served as an advertising piece within their shop.

The Bramah lock comes with its original key.
