Dating from the 1850’s, this very tactile, radial edged antique jewellery strong box is made from solid Cuban Mahogany with brass strapping.
The interior of the box is lined with green velvet and Morocco leather. A solid Mahogany tray is removed to reveal a deep velvet-lined area beneath.
The Leuchars Patent Bramah lock features a design whereby the front aperture twists clockwise to open, and automatically locks itself when the lid is closed. The gold-plated ‘dummy key serves as a handle to aid with the twisting action.
